According to foreign media, the online furniture company Pepperfry announced a new round of financing of $38.4 million, with investors as State Street Global Advisors.
So far, the company's total financing has reached $180 million.
State Street Global Advisors, one of the largest investment management companies in the world, is a subsidiary of State Street Corporation, one of the largest investment management companies in the world, with an asset management scale of $2.78 trillion.
It has been six years since Pepperfry was founded, and it has been reported that they plan to go public, but it has yet to disclose a specific timeframe.
Founded in January 2012, the company started its e-commerce platform mainly by selling family, lifestyle, fashion and other commodity categories. Now it is specialized in furniture and household products.
This latest investment will use Pepperfry's foray into smaller, second-tier cities, while accelerating the deployment of more offline "experience center" stores.
Not only that, the company is investing in augmented reality and virtual reality technology to give users a better experience.
